Since I love to eat and snack so much, I thought I'd share some of the many eating places in Whatcom County, which I frequent. Here are just some of my many favorites.
CALLALOO CARIBBEAN KITCHEN
1212 N. State Street
(360) 676-5375
Caribbean cuisine - Shrimp and Rice dishes are great - Fun martini menu -Cute, informal setting with Reggae music playing.
GIUSEPPE'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT
1414 Cornwall
(360) 714-9100
Best Italian restaurant, in my opinion (although most all of them are good in Bellingham!) - Gorgeous atmosphere - Somewhat formal - Great for special occasions.
LA PATISSERIE
3098 Northwest Avenue
(360) 671-3671
Long-standing Vietnamese Restaurant - All dishes are outstanding - Make sure to try the garlic pork chops and asparagus soup - they know how to use herbs - Light & Delicious! - Informal setting.
CAFFÉ ADAGIO
1435 Railroad Avenue
(360) 671-1198
One of my favorite (among many!) coffee shops - Quiet, open atmosphere with couches and comfortable chairs - Great coffees, as well as sandwiches and some desserts (could use more desserts though !!).
MOUNT BAKERY
308 W. Champion Street, Suite C
(360) 715-2195
Owner is from Belgium - Fabulous Homemade Belgian Desserts - You'll have to try each and every one - Unique and delicious breakfasts 6 days a week - my favorites: Eggs Benedict served with fantastic homemade Hollandaise sauce, Belgian waffle, served with fresh fruit, real whipped cream, and dark Belgian chocolate on top - Not a place to go if you are in a hurry, as everything is prepared from scratch, but the food is well worth the wait!
Enjoy !
