How many social networking or business development sites can one person actively and responsibly maintain?  I belong to a few, but I find it difficult to maintain an active presence on all sites at all times (where is the expert programmer who is developing a one-stop-shop to keep all the various sites up to date and current with one creative piece of software?).

So the simple question...how many is right and how many is too many?

As many as you can comfortably contribute to without sacrificing other means of marketing.

If you think one more is too much, it probably is.

I love your topic, and I have been looking at some of these one stop sites, where you can enter the data and populate among other sites. One thing that I do that saves time is that I use AR blog as the main one and RSS feed whenever i can to facebook, myspace and my personal one so that i dont have to worry about bloggin on all

Then I have each site on a monthly scheduled maintenance and just spend an hour on that site , updating and putting on information I might have missed. Its a tough gig but I advise to do as many as you can as you never know where the next referral will come from

I have a difficult time keeping up with much outside AR, if there is software out there please let me know when you find it.

I wish I had an answer....,.I am involved in more than one and most of them I just use an rss feed from AR to satisfy that I am adding quality content to each.

I feel your pain.  I am on AR, Face Book, My Dwelling, Twitter actively.  I also have RSS feeds.  It's all I can handle in addition to daily life and email.

Mary, Julie and James, thanks for the RSS reminder.  I need to do some self-education on that topic since I seem to be a bit behind the curve on "how to" with the RSS feeds.  Great suggestions, thank you!

Brian, I'll let you know what I find!

Rick, thanks for your comment...still trying to find the right balance...that's where testing and measuring becomes useful, right?

Jason - I don't know how anyone can maintain more than 1.  I struggle to be consistent just in the Rain.  If you can handle more than that - more power to you!
