Great Closing Gift - About Ten Bucks!

By

First of all, I promise this is not SPAM.  I am not getting paid for this endorsement, nor does the company I am going to be addressing have an affiliate program.

Quick sidebar:  For those that don't know, an affiliate program is, in a nutshell, when you supply a link to a product on your site and, if the link-followers buy something, you get a cut.  Usually 10% of the sales price.  Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Anyway, over the years I have tried many closing gifts.  I try to get the most bang for my buck, so to speak, but nothing really has grabbed me.  Either they eat it or they throw it away.  Cheap plastic calendars?  We have computers nowadays.  People tend to toss that stuff.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could give a client a gift that they would keep...  Something that they would use everyday?  Something that had your name on it?  Something that only cost $10, but that they will be forever grateful?

I have found that very thing.  If you buy $50 of them, they are only $10 per.  You can order all 50 now and than use them over the course of the next year.  They ship them to your clients giftwrapped in gold foil and a nice little box.

Okay Karen!  What is it already?!?

It's called AdStamp and it's absolutely brilliant.  Your client moves into their new home and a week later, they receive one of those big, hand-sized, self-inking stamps with their name and new address on it.  So convenient when switching to a new house!

The best part is that your name and contact information is on the top of the stamp, which they will use several times per week.  Your name will be in front of them whenever they stamp a letter- and if they're anything like me, they'll do a lot of stamping.  When someone asks them for a Realtor, you are literally, right in their hands.

closing gift, ad stampCredit cards?  Bills?  Don't write your "new address" on the back, just stamp that sucker in.  Of course, it also replaces all of their return address stickers they've had to throw away.  I have had more people call me up and give me heartfelt thanks over this tiny gift, that I will never stop using it.

I know, if you try it, your clients will thank you.  Check it out and read some testomials at www.AdStamp.com

Again, I am not being paid in any way for this.  I am not a shareholder with Adstamp.  My only interest is offering this fantastic tip to my fellow ActiveRain folks.

Sounds like a good idea.  I'm interested in trying that but I'm curious, how can we order in bulk without the clients address?  We wouldn't have that information yet.

Yes Nick, you can order in bulk and than add the clients as you go, which is what I do.  I ship 2 or 3 at a time...

Karen,

Thanks for the information.  We actually received one of these from our Mortgage Broker after we moved in and still have it and use it.  You are very right . . . a great gift idea.  Thanks again.

What an awesome idea! And so easy. This brings up the question of just how much to spend on a closing gift.  My broker told me it should be at least $50-$100. I can say as a new agent that is tough but I have been doing it.  I am in the Northeast, so I don't know if the closing gift is kind of a regional thing.  Anyone care to share their thoughts? Thanks. I realy like this idea.  It is a great client appreciation gift as well.  If one want to supplement with something else it is fine -- but I like to give clients something they will keep and it will serve as a reminder.

RUN AWAY W/ME!!!

I am, by the way, a happily married man. You, however, have given me more tid-bits of useful information in the last couple of days than I've picked up since starting out (although, there's certainly no lack of the useLESS info I've accumulated)! Thank you for bringing me to this lovely, lovely woman Active Rain and Karen...

Where have you been all of my life?!?!?     ;-)

* NOTE: This is intended as a good-humored, tongue-in-cheek, make someone smile kind of post; nothing more, nothing less (got to love disclaimers)

No Scott.  Too late.  We must begin a torrid affair.  To heck with the wife.  Forget my husband.  I will fill your head with real estate tidbits as we float off into the horizon...

Karen- That is a great little item. A wonderful closing gift that will actually get used. I think we might have to add those to our arsenal. We like travel mugs with our names on them. People always seem to need travel mugs.

I like Ad Stamps and it makes a great closing gift. One of the agents I work with orders that stamps and deliver it at the closing table. Save a lot of time when it comes to mailing out changes.

Karen, nice job, I use to do something like this.  I would take a photo picture of the new home, and place it on a mailer, with the new address and directions of the home.  Very neat and catchy, so they could send this to all their friends and relatives.   Also had my name on the bottom as the L.O. for them.  But I really like your idea here.

Fabulous idea.  What about creating a personalized stamp with a picture of the client's new house on it?  Just another thought!

My company also sells these as closing gifts.  We also sell them at $10 a pop but we require no minimum purchases though.  So you can order 10, 50, or 1.  And it will always be $10.  We can even include a custom Thank You card with your signature for an additional $1.  See below for more information.
