Encouraging Words

By
Mortgage and Lending with Mount Olympus mortgage

I have an office full of hard workers. They are some of the greatest people i've ever met. We all know the market is not what it used to be! For the most part, we are a positive, upbeat group. Sometimes I can see the frustration and wanted to know what you do to motivate and encourage your groups for a little "pick me up."

This week at our office meeting we each wrote down one marketing idea and then traded them with someone else from the office, we have 2 or 3 weeks to focus on that specific marketing plan and then we will meet up to tell the group of the success we have.  This not only gives everyone a knew project to work on, but it also opens up their thinking to new ideas they may not have thought of before.  We have found that sharing success stories is a big booster for the entire office.

Nicole,

What Kimberly said is great...I had a suggestion close to the same.  Everyone throw an idea into the hat and pick one (or several) depending the group and the resources.  BUT make it fun!  Use creativity to make the project exciting, to get your peeps pumped up and WANT to go out and try something new.

Around here we do the same thing...but make it a group project.  Like last month we picked to cater a luncheon with a certain group of people (we did the serving with chef's hats on and aprons) so we were able to greet people and chat with them while serving them.  We had tons of comments from the lunch peeps and thanked us for thinking of them and received 3 referrals from that luncheon!

Pick something that you guys haven't done OR had enough gumption to do.

Thanks! those are some really great ideas and I appreciate the feedback!

I actually just had a meeting and we all went around and shared something difficult we overcame in the past week that made us proud.

Not only did it give the individual a chance to share something that may have gone un-noticed, but it opened up other peoples eyes as well to maybe try that the next time. It also opened up a lot of conversation, which was great for our team morale.

It was good to see everyone excited and happy. That makes me happy :)

I will definitely try your ideas and keep you posted on the outcome!! Thanks again!
