Have you ever been to the FLORA-BAMA?

Well folks, it is our last night at the beach, the Alabama Governor's Health & Safety Conference is coming to a close, and it is our last night to entertain visitors at the famous Flora-Bama.

It's one of those traditions that is a part of visiting this area of the beach.  The Flora-Bama, as it's name suggests, is situated on the Florida/Alabama state line.  The place nearly blew away in Hurricane Ivan in September 2004, but repairs have been made and the Flora-Bama lives on!

I have only been a few times, and it is always loud and crazy.  This evening I am going once again, bringing visitors to the area that have heard so much about it and wouldn't miss it.

Does anybody have any memories to share about a visit to the Flora-Bama?

Thank you for your blog, Ann. The Flora-Bama is definitely a legendary spot. This November, stay tuned for the International Songwriters Festival that takes place there and the Mullet Toss in April--where you can actually toss a fish across the state line.

Ann you are right, the Flora-Bama is a must see/visit.  It is a very unique and fun place.  One where you will find people of all ages from all walks of life and, at times, from all around the world.
