Good evening everyone. I'd like to welcome myself to the wonderful world of Blogging. I tried putting this off as long as I could but alas, my good friend Elizabeth Golden wouldn't leave me alone about it...so here I am...please bear with me.
In a business where networking is KEY, especially if you're new to the business, blogging is a way to open yourself up, let people in, show them you're human. And I intend to do just that. I welcome any comments and hope that you can look past the grammatical errors and misspelled words...which there will be plenty of. hahaha.
To give you a little background on myself, I'm a 25 year old college grad that moved to Huntsville AL and started selling real estate a little over a year ago. I enjoy my work, especially when I truly help someone. It's been an eye opening experience for me, and I've learned more in this past year than it seems I have in my entire life. I've been blessed to have met such great agents like Elizabeth, Chris Meadows, and others that have taken me under their wing and mentored me. I honestly can say I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for them...I would've packed up my bags and gotten a 9 to 5 a long time ago. But they have encouraged me and showed me the "right" way to do business and I am forever grateful.
While I have lived here, I have moved an astounding four times in the past year. I didn't plan on doing this, opportunities kept arising...and i took 'em. I look back now and realize how important to my success this really was. You see, I was unfamiliar with the Huntsville/Madison area when I first moved here. Everything looked the same and I'm already bad with remembering directions and street names. But because I have lived in four completely different areas, I have had the chance to learn what kind of people live in these communities, how the market is doing in each, and basically, information that I wouldn't have know if I had not been forced to learn my new surroundings. This has been a great help in dealing with my clients, and I can credit that to the recent ssuccess I've had. For all those new in the industry, and new to certain areas: if you have the chance to do this, it really helps...and after a while, you learn what's important, how to pack light, and hopefully your new territory. Hope this is as entertaining to you as it was for me to write. My next blog will be about my new farming adventure, check back and give me any advice you can.
It's a good life,
Michael
