What do you spend your time thinking about?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greenville Central

"You are a living magnet. What you attract
into your life is in harmony with
your dominant thoughts."
- Brian Tracy

Here we go...we're going to be reminded once again just how powerful our thoughts are!  We know that our words are powerful, but do we really ever take time to think about what's going on in our minds? What you focus the majority of your time thinking about will eventually come out in your words and your actions.

For instance, let's say we get upset with someone who said something to offend us. Instead of going ahead and dealing with the situation by either talking with the person or just letting it go, we allow the scene that hurt us to go over and over in our minds. Each time we think about it, it gets a little worse and we start getting more upset. Then we start talking to others about how upset we are because we keep rehearsing it over and over. The next thing we know, the simple little thing that offended us has now become all blown out of proportion and we're ready to take severe action because we have become so angry!

Another example...in the real estate world, it is the responsibility of agents to help people sell their houses and to  help people buy houses. If we constantly allow our minds to focus on all the negative talk about the market, what good are we going to be to potential clients? If we continue to rehearse just how bad things are, we will begin to carry ourselves in the same manner and people will have no confidence in us. If we are not confident in what we are doing, how can we expect others to be confident in us?

Change how you think about things. Refuse to be beaten down by all the negative talk and be determined to rise above the situation at hand and be a success! Be confident in the job that you do every day and when you are out meeting with clients they will sense your excitement and enthusiasm!

In our lives in general, people are more attracted to us or drawn to us when we are confident in who we are! It's time we get rid of defeated attitudes and realize that God has gifted each one of us to do great and mighty things! You have the ability to be great at what you do and to excel at everything you put your hands to, but you have to see yourself that way before you will step into that greatness!

I often pray for the strenght to get through each day.  I saw a movie last night that if you pray for strength, God will send you tough situations to be strong about.  That was a scary thought :)

Connie,  I was listening to Brian Tracy's Pyschology of Achievement this morning.  It is true your are or become what you think about.  Be sure they are positive thoughts.

I find that many people approach life not with goals, but with expectations.  Instead of striving to achieve goals, reveling in the glory of each successful step, they instead are disappointed that their expectations were not met thus making a small success that could propel you forward into a defeat that pulls them down.

Great post with great encouragement. Sometimes it is easier said than done, but man, it's so rewarding when we can focus on the positive. And it helps us maintain balance.

One minute of anger robs us of sixty seconds of happiness.

So Connie, when are you going to write a motivational book?
