Video with Digital Still Camera....Not Bad for Some Occassions

By

I've been considering the purchase of a Flip camera (or comparable alternative) for shooting occasional videos for buyer clients or other quick low-budget applications.  I still might make that small investment, but on Tuesday I discovered, out of necessity, that my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 digital still camera does a decent job with short video.  Take a look at this video shot in very low light with flashlight assistance during a rainstorm in our below-ground and echoing parking garage.

The content and purpose of the video is not important to this audience, but the urgency of my need for a video record forced me to use the tool I already have and the results were surprisingly better than I expected.  Just thought this might be something other agents and real estate professionals should keep in mind, since most of us already own still cameras with some video capabilties.  Try out your still camera's video and then don't missed an opportunity that suddenly arises when you don't have your camcorder.

Neat use of video.  I can see how video can convey a little more information than just static pictures.

Hopefully this is a helpful idea, because you are right, video is becoming more and more important and available.
