Investing "OUT" of your own backyard!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Bonterre Realty Group Inc.

Sometimes investing out of State can be better than where you are living.  Due to the expanding foreclosure market there are deals to be had almost everywhere.  I have found that networking with many people can bring deals that we can't maybe get where we live.  When investing it is important not to put all your eggs in the same basket (or state).  Each market place is different...one may be booming while the other may be failing. So it is important to study the current market trend and dempgraphics in the area in which you are wanting to invest or for investors you work with.

Anyone for Dallas and Cleveland Deals??????......I have them and some are sweet.....8% Cap rates and equity built in.

Hey, Andrea.

You and I are lucky because we live in an area where lots of people want to live but that doesn't mean there aren't good bargains elsewhere in the country. In fact, that my purpose for "investing" my time here at ActiveRain. I've received four referrals from Realtors, two in my area, and each in D.C. and Dallas.

Good luck in branching out to other areas.

A very interesting post and comment. I know of clients searching Tennessee near the Nissan plant last year. The home prices were incredible...

Andrea, good point. I didn't know there were still some 8% Cap Rates out there. Thanks.
