Florida Schools Deserve Better Than 50th Place!

By
Real Estate Agent with Signature Realty Associates

Make Florida Education a PRIORITY!  Ever wonder WHY our teachers request so many school supplies at the start of a year...wonder why our children don't have more specialized classes?  What about WHY you're less than thrilled with a teacher who doesn't seem thrilled to be in his/her position but needs the job.  BETTER YET...what about the ones who are SUPERIOR and have made an impact on your child's life?  Eveeryone has had their own childhood experience(s) in school that have left a permanant mark on your life.

Florida Schools Deserve Better Than 50th Place is a cause worthy of a read and email signature with nothing more required.  Please take a minute and fill out this simple form on-line to help YOUR STUDENT, OUR CHILDREN, and Florida's future.

You can sign the petition without adding your name to future mailings or donating anything.  Once you sign, you will go to a page that asks for donations, but it says at the top that your signature has been recorded and you can simply close the page.  You can also contact your elected officials.  Do something for the children in Florida today...

**Being a PTA Mom who's very involved means I try to go the extra mile to give my children as well as their teacher's that extra little bit when I can.  Maybe if we can collect signatures like yours and mine we can make a difference in the education system in Florida.  It can all start today...

Susie - 50th place is not good. I hope many will go support your efforts and make education a priority in Florida.

Sandra - THANKS for your support!  I have many friends who are teachers here and I have emailed them the links to continue to add names to the list as well.

Hi Susie:

I agree with Sandra.  I hope that others will make efforts to improve the schools in Florida.  I love Florida.

Susie, I couldn't have said it better. It seems Florida's main priority is Tourism. Check this out; my daughter started 9th grade this year. The high school is supposedly rated "B". I had to pay for 2 of her classes, Art and Pottery, a combined $45, and $14 for 1 gym uniform on top of all the school supplies. This is ridiculous. I was outraged! I also feel that all public schools should require uniforms so our children can focus on school instead of who's wearing what. I would gladly buy my daughter's uniforms if it would improve the academics of our children. I will sign that petition. Thank you for your informative blog.

Susie, this was a problem when I lived in Florida and apparently is still the issue. I think one of the problems though with the Florida School systems might actually start with their pocketbook.

Thanks for the great advice. I will check back often. I really like the blog. I am new at blogging but I am beginning to learn quite a bit from reading blogs like the ones I find on Active Rain. If I can ever be of help just visit my blog or my website: http://yournowwhat.com

Yes...50th that is very sad...we should work as a community together to make our schools better..in the end it is all of our futures that are effected.....these children are our future and should be given the best opportunities available..heck just from our lotto money these kids should be getting first class all the way.
