There can be nothing worse than a foul smelling kitchen. One of the most common reasons behind bad odors in the kitchen is the refrigerator. What goes into your fridge and how much attention you pay it, shows the kind of smell it emanates. Clean your kitchen to have a nice and fresh kitchen, devoid of odor.

You can follow these easy tips to get rid of bad odors in the fridge:

Once in three months you need to keep a jar of baking soda in your fridge.

Wipe clean and dry the body and base of sour cream, milk, and yogurt containers before refrigerating.

Make it a point never to store stuff like onions and potatoes in the fridge

You should store opened hotdog and bologna packages in zip lock bags in order to prevent the juices from running all over the shelf.

You can prevent parsley, cilantro, and spinach from rotting by placing paper towel along the crispers.

In case of fluid spills, wipe away the mess immediately.

Use a twister to seal bread bags firmly so that crumbs do not scatter.

Do not forget to wipe the tips of mustard squeezers before you keep them back in the fridge.

Try these steps and notice the results for yourself.

Shasa - I like the "simple kitchen " you used in your post it appears that the cook is no more than two steps from all components at any given time.

Thanks for the great tips.  I use all of them and they do work.  You don't need to buy those expensive "Refrigerator" boxes of baking soda.  A jar with holes in the lid  or small plastic tub with holes in the top work just as well.  You can also sprinkle baking soda on your carpet, let it set for 20 minutes and then vacuum it up... it works just as well as the prepackage ones for carpet.  It will remove odors.

For any realtors or homeowners dealing with the odor problem I have found the miracle solution.  I am the property manager to a large apartment community.  At the beginning of every month I deal with odor problems from recently vacated apartments.  Some are more severe than others. Last month we had a really severe smelling apartment.  Even after fresh paint and new carpet we couldn't get cat urine smell out.  One of my maintenance guys brought me a product called Room Shocker this product works like no other product have ever tried.  It's simple to use and not labor or time intensive.  So there's no scrubbing or spring or wiping.  It's relatively inexpensive.  It's not a masking agent and gets rid of the odor at the source.  It not only gets rid of the smell, but it completely Decontaminates and disinfects the whole room.  So far I've been able to get rid of severe pet odor, the smell of cat urine, heavy cigarette smoke odor.   I had trouble finding the product but I found it on a website called BiocideSystems.com.  I guess it's fairly new.  I swear by this stuff now and then highly recommend it to realtors and  Or apartment managers and owners. The stuff really works!
