Hurricane Gustav, Hurricane Hanna

As New Orleans braces for what all of us have prayed would never happen again, I cant help but imagine the great deal of stress those in the path of a hurricane must contend with.  Natural disasters are inevitable in life.  Fortunately for all those in harms way of a hurricane, there is advanced warning of what is about to come.  After the affects of Katrina and the widespread damage it caused, we are all saying a prayer that Gustav weakens and moves quickly through the area.

Hurricane Hanna is floating out in the Atlantic with uncertainty as to which way it wants to go. More tropical depressions are forming in the Atlantic.  Which ones will become hurricanes?  Which ones will reach the coast and at what intensity?  Every summer the Southeast United States goes through this stressful time.  Millions of Americans living in the Southeast continue to live there for various reason, one of which I am sure is the incredible weather.

When I think of Costa Rica and the same beautiful weather, I was recently reminded that there has never been a hurricane to hit the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.  Just a laid back, pure, unstressed, relaxed lifestyle.  No windows to board up, no worrying about tidal surge, no need to evacuate and worry if your home will be there when you come back.

To all of those in the path of Gustav our thoughts and prayers are with you.  I hope all in harms way take the advice of the officials and evacuate while there is time.

Hi Evonne, That's one of the great things Cost Rica has going for it "NO HURRICANES". I hope the people on the Gulf Coast get back to a normal life and recover from their losses soon.
