Another Tip On The "Free" Advertising...

By
Real Estate Agent with The Purcell Group

I wanted to let everyone know of another piece of advise that I have found to work very well recently...

I am admittedly not a big fan of being in the office, I much prefer to be out and about.  I am likely to be found emailing from a restaurant, coffee shop, or anywhere that has Wi-Fi.  About two months ago, I came across a "skin" for my laptop while researching different marketing ideas.  I was directed to a website that allowed me to design my own "skin" for a very reasonable price, $20.  If you are unfamiliar with what a laptop "skin" is, it is basically a bumper sticker for your computer.  It acts as a mini bilboard when you are working on your computer in public places, and is custom designed to look like it actually belongs on your computer.  The back of my computer now reads:

Keller Wililams Realty

The Purcell Group

www.PurcellGroupAustin.com

512-330-1094

(Yes, that was a shameless plug for any of your Austin referrals!!!)

Through this advertisment, I have scheduled 1 listing appointment, 1 lease and several comments.  I can't think of too many other ways that you spend $20 out of your marketing budget!  If you want to check into this for yourself, just google "custom laptop skins" or email me and I will give you the site I used.

Have a great week!

I'm a firm believer that as much exposure as possible is what we need, especially in a slower market.  Blogging, writing for your local newspaper, putting your picture on everything, wearing your gold jacket if you are a Century 21 agent, always wearing your name badge, and handing out cards everywhere.  When you take clothes to the cleaners (or a similar errand) and they ask your name and phone number, just hand them your business card.  many times they will ask if they may keep it, and once in awhile they will end up calling or referring you.

One thing I hadn't thought about doing is to use a custom laptop skin.  Thanks for the great idea.  I'll google it and if I can't find them, I'll let you know.

Tremendous idea.  And inexpensive to boot.  Gott remember to pot it on upside down, knowing myself I'm sure i would set it for me to read when it's closed and expect the rest of the room to stand on their heads to read my ad.

Thanks, Jon. Super tip. This is very creative. I will order it this weekend. Do you mind sharing the picture of your "skin"? Maybe we can come up a group so that everybody shares his/her skin?
