Blogging Tips, Solve Don't Sell

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with VivaReal
Some real estate professionals blog for different reasons. Here on AR it is mostly professional to professional contact, but if you are not already you should definitely be targeting a good portion of your posts directly at the consumer. This short video talks about being solution driven rather than selling. My first "real" job (just added the word "real" because I actually had several jobs, try and guess which one is NOT true. 1 - Santa Clause at a XMAS tree farm 2 - hand model (for watches) and 3 - a swim instructor). Gotta keep these posts fun, but really....when I was 19 I worked as a telemarketers (I called real estate agents and tried to sell them websites...now they are my friends....sorry about the cold calls back then!). I know that in real estate there is a lot of sales training and it is an important part of business. I'm not trying to get agents to stop selling, but I will say --- Please don't sell on your blog! This is a surefire way to fail. I hope you enjoy this short video from the NAHREP convention in Anaheim.

This is some great information for people who are starting off in industry plus for those who are just starting into the blogging and Internet arena.

I think I would rather work fast food than be a telemarketer. What were you thinking? J/K

As along as you look cute, it works all the same (fast food and telemarketer). While your at it, can you make me a burger hold the onions and no mayo. LOL.

Angelina, they were tough times. Its called bustin your butt tryna make a buck while you're in school, however, it was a good experience because it made me realize that I need to finish school so I could do something else. Real estate agents get so bombarded by offerings over the phone and I think that telemarketing is dying a slow death. Prospecting for business has changed a lot over the last 10 years and the advent or the growth of the internet has been a real propent of this dying process. Interruption advertising doesn't work like it used to.

But my true words of wisdom are...I sure do like a good burger now and then and I'll have mine with everything.

I had to leave early on Friday, so I missed the presentation. We spoke briefly at lunch and I sure wish I could hear the whole presentation. Just this few minutes exerpt showed me what I am doing wrong right now.

Thanks

I too hope that we have a great turnout. I think Phoenix is a good location as it draws people from California and Texas, two areas with the largest membership. There are a lot of great sessions lined up and it is always great to see old friends and meet new people. I will be doing some live blogging from the convention as well as posting photos and videos. I will have a few laptops with wireless cards so I will try and do as much reporting as possible on everything. Will you be there?
