I typed in my hometown. What appeared was the map of the town that looked like a bowl of M&M's - like one of the sweets used to lure children. The dynamic Google powered tool includes symbols for schools, churches and recreational parks while small differently coloured squares marks where different types of sex criminals live. Red means child molester, yellow means rape. The ones branded by a blue square are "only" guilty of sexual battery...
But it doesn't stop there. When you have found the exact area of interest, you can even click on each square for more information. The registry provides you with picture, address, name, gender, date of birth, height, weight, hair color, eye color and even specific details as known aliases and tattoos! You also get a zoomed in map which pinpoints the exact building where the molester lives, where he works and a copy of his registered convictions. You can even sign up for to be alerted by IM or e-mail when an offender moves into your neighborhood.
