Get the business by going to get it!

Real Estate Agent with Hardy Realty

I had surgery last week, a hysterectomy! That was fun..... My point is that I was upset that I would not be able to go into the office for a couple of weeks. What I discovered is, that I did not miss a beat! Yesterday I had one of the busiest days I have had in several weeks. My phone rang off the hook, and I received two offers on two different listings over the internet. Cool.....

I brought my laptop home, and sat down with the tv off and did a lot of little tasks I needed to do that fail to get done when I am in the office. There friends are continuosly coming into my office to chat, or I run in and out and the things fail to get done. I sat still at home, went through my calendar book, made calls to clients, and sent emails to folks I needed to contact and follow up with. Accomplished much.

I just want to say, as a Realtor, we can work anywhere. Just make the time, sit down and do something. You will get things done you have forgotten about. Make good use of all your time. My mentor, Charles Griffin, always told me in the basics, "make at least 10 cold contacts a day and you will be surprised at how much business you stir up! Don't sit and wait on it to come to you."

In this down market, we have to remember the basic things we learned when we started. Go get it! Even if you are stuck at home you can still go get some business, if you want it!

I hope you are better soon.  And your are right.  I work in the car waiting in the school line, waiting for my kids to finish karate, etc.  Taking advantage of typical down time can make you very productive.
