That's a great video and I agree. People are online looking for information to their problems. You want to provide the solutions for them. Your traffic and readership will grow from there.
This is very true and great comments and suggestions, but question what do you recommend for some of the solutions in help to grow the traffic?
Victor, there are many ways to grow traffic. One of the main things that Ricardo mentioned in the presentation is the idea of pushing your blog. For example, if someone asks you a question (maybe in an email or elsewhere) this is a great opportunity to respond specifically to that question. By addressing specific issues related to a client's question you build a dialogue (which can lead to a community) around your blog. You can do this here on AR or on your personal blog. He is basically saying, don't wait for people to come to you go after your potential clients. Tell them about it and write specifically addressing their needs.
Other ways of building traffic are participating on group blogs, commenting on other professional's blogs which will lead to relationships and potentially help you get added to another blog's blog roll (a link to your blog). Inbound links is a key factor in placing well in the search engines. Let me clarify, having a link in the comments section does not help your SEO, but participating in a community allows you to build credibility as a professional. Hope this helps shed some more light.
Yes, it does. This is why I send my clients my website and my blogg page so if they have a question they can address it there and have many people who have had a problem in the past explain it, including myself or I just pick a topic and write about it and have all of my clients on that page for comments and remarks to their solutions to the problem.
Yep, that is the cool thing about a blog is that it can be updated so easily. Static websites suck. In terms of driving traffic to your blog and something that Ricardo didn't get into on the video is that the way blogs are designed structurally they naturally perform well in the search engines.
