What a Difference!

I had a listing  some time ago that was sapping my energy.  It was a lovely home, but wasn't getting anyone's attention that came through.   The owner and I were at a loss.  The home was vacant, but minimally furnished.  It showed well....or so we thought.

Enter the professional stager.  As soon as she had given the home a face lift, I knew that we were going to see some action.

Take a look at these before and after pics in the kitchen.  On the left you'll see what the home looked like when I took the listing.  Not bad.  But on the right, the stager has come by and given the room life.

Since this experience, I have turned on that creative side of my brain to look for the hidden potential in homes.   Brinigng flashes of color to a room, minimizing the furniture in some places, but showing the functionality of a room in others.  Placing objects that do not distract from the home itself, but add interest to a room for those reasons that buyers just can't put their fingers on.

Little changes can make big impressions.

Chris Ann...

A little bit here and there can indeed make a huge difference! I think I need to do some staging at some of my listings!

Richard:  I definitely believe in staging.  After this particular listing was staged, it got a contract in two weeks.  And it was nearly a total of a year and a half on the market.  Granted, I wasn't the only Realtor.  I was third that added to that total time, but the staging made thiose Days on Market irrelevant and finally got the thing sold.

Pat:  The yellow flowers are really eye catching.  And I love the barstools.
