Calling all perfectionists..

By
Mortgage and Lending with Sindeo

I am struggling getting going with blogging.  I suffer from "perfection paralysis"- I want things to be perfect before I publish them!  I am afraid this fear will keep me from being a successful blogger.  I would love feedback from other perfectionists out there who have successfully overcome your own paralysis!

Hiya Ginger! You just have to start somewhere! Thank goodness for the Spell Checker at least! You can start to write your article, and save it in the 'Draft' mode. That way, you can keep coming back and making changes over a period of time, rather than feeling pressured to create your post all at once! Let me know if you have any questions along the way. Start by writing about one of your passions in real estate, or the market area you live in. Tiburon has a lot of really cool aspects, and would make some great material for consumers!

Ginger,

Is it perfectionism that is actually keeping you from bloggin? What if you write a blog and it's not perfect, or what if no one comments on it?  These are questions we have all asked ourselves. The bottom line is, this happens all the time. Start out with some local (for localism) blogs. These will get you used to blogging about your community without expecting comments. Then you will just normally branch out. An idea, or someones comment will spur you on until it just comes naturally. Blog for yourself and enjoy it.

Good question Karen.  I haven't written very many blogs because I am nervous the content won't be right.  I am a perfectionist with my printed marketing materials and always want them to look just right.  I think blogging is a little different!  I just joined this site, but since joining I posted three new posts on Sunday to my blog.  This site has tons of great advice!  Thank you for the good advice. I will try to blog for myself insteading of worrying that it is not good enough.

Ginger, I checked out your blogs and they look fine. Now for some photos of the area and you're on your way! Also, you can always delete a blog if you don't care for it after. Have fun:)

I think that anyone that bolgs understands that these things sometimes come out fast and not always do you have the chance to "proof" your work. It is my opinion that while wanting to make things perfect, I have found that these things often are not. As such, no worries and your off!

Good luck
