BLUE JAYS, RATS AND POSSUMS...

Today was an intense day...lots of problems to solve...people a little demanding...well you know the kind of day I am talking about. So....in the interest of bringing it a little laughter, I thought I would share with you our conversation at the end of the day...

Wanda's cat brought her a gift...a blue jay.  But it was still alive, so when the cat offered the gift, the bird took off....flying into everything it could in the house!  Wanda and Frank frantically chased the bird from room to room before it finally was caught and released.

Jean and Dick were driving in the hills when, to their horror, they hit a possum.  Feeling awful, they got out of their car only to find that it was unconscious but still alive!  They promptly put it in the car and headed to the vet.  Well, have you ever heard the term "playing possum"? There is a reason for that saying. The possum came to life and immediately was panicked and looking for a way out!! They stopped the car and opened the door.  The last they saw of the possum, it was scampering away very much alive!

My husband and I decided to bring in a dresser from the garage into our closet (we were young, broke and this was our version of closet organizers).  I enthusiastically cleaned out each drawer.  When I pulled open the 2nd to last drawer, I was pleased to find some scarves that I hadn't realized I had left in the dresser. I pulled them out and, eeeekkkk with them pulled out two rats! My husband came running to find me balancing precariously on the water bed and promptly went into hysterics! He brought in our two dainty persian cats, closed our bedroom door and opened the door to the patio.  Peanuts, the baby cat, was all business and her rat was out in second flat. Popcorn, the mama, wanted to play with a flip of the paw on the rat here and another flip there.  Uck!  She finally got bored and took it out.

There...great visuals, huh?

Paula

I was a farmer for awhile. Wait until you walk through some trees and see the possums hanging. It is a real wake up call.

Sincerely

I had a cat that "Sport Hunted"... She would go outside, catch a bird, and bring it in the house.  She would then let it go inside the house, just for the fun of catching it again....

as you said.... Yuck.

Let me tell you, it is a lousy way to wake up in the morning!

We have 4 full time cats and 2 more that just discovered us . They all bring daily "gifts" to the back door including frogs, lizards and unidentifiable things too.
