Why I became a real estate agent

By
Real Estate Agent with Acquire Real Estate

I choose a career in real estate because I love solving puzzles and helping people reach their goals. Plus based on my experiences with other real estate agents, I knew I could do a better job than many.

Real estate is about more than just sticking a sign in the yard, entering a listing into the computer, opening a lockbox for a buyer and showing up at closing. It is a giant puzzle where all the pieces must fit together in order to see the whole picture. It is about listening to others and digging deep to find their needs and help them find the answer. That may be helping a recent graduate determine if it is the right time to buy their first house or searching high and low for just the right house for a family that is moving into town in 3 weeks.

I do not believe in cookie cutter solutions. What is right for one home and one situation may not be the correct option for another. It know it is my responsibility to solve the puzzle for my clients and find the best solution.

I also want to be sure that people understand what they are doing and why. Therefore,  it is very important to me to educate my clients about the buying and selling process. I want you to have the information you need to make an informed decision about the largest financial transaction of your life.

Let's be honest... we have all met a real estate agent that did not impress us. For over 5 years before getting licensed, I researched what it takes to become an excellent real estate agent and I made careful mental notes about how I would do things differently. Here are just a few things I am committed to doing based on research and observation...

•·         I embrace technology but still have a personal touch.

•·         I keep in touch with my clients so they know what is happening.

•·         I can tell callers about the listings they are calling about.

•·         I advise my clients about what they need to do in order to put their home in the best position to sell.

•·          I will never tell you to list your home at a higher price just to get a listing.

•·         I will never keep a client in a listing agreement if they are unsatisfied.

•·         I will be proactive.

I became a real estate agent so I could be help YOU solve your real estate puzzle!

Hi Kiri, and welcome to real estate.  I hope things are going well for you!  I was just looking at your tips for curb appeal when the soil is hard, etc...   I just wanted to let you know that I'm gonna save that for future reference.  Great idea.  Just wanted to say 'hello' across the lake from Chapin area!

Kiri, this is totally admirable! You are right about there being so much more than the basics. If a sign and lock box were the "key" to Real Estate there would be no need for us. I remind people often...we earn our money. And, yes we do. Thanks for the post!

In looking at real estate as a puzzle, that makes it fun like a game ... and a lot less like work. I'm sure your solid business skills, creativity and sincerity are a great benefit to your clients.
