Why isn't AR more iPhone friendly?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Muelver Realty, LLC

I use my iPhone for everything. I was trying to use it to surf and comment on AR the other day and it didn't work! I couldn't select the comment text box on my iPhone.

I was very surprised at this. I use my MLS system, Realtor.com, my online banking and any number of other sites on a daily basis from my iPhone. I'd like to encourage AR to make sure that everything on the site is compatible with Safari Mobile (the iPhone's web browser). The iPhone is the most popular mobile web browsing platform and its market share is growing steadily. It will only be a matter of time until mobile browsing becomes commonplace among the general public and not just us "techies".

True!  A better spell checker and a grammar checker would go a long way too.  Have you read some of the Hillbilly posts I've read?

@Randall - Yes, I've seen some very "hillbilly" posts around here. i do my best to use proper grammar and spelling and I don't think that it's very hard to do.

Good point Matt AR should be more compatible with the IPhone I bet The AR staff is currently working towards this.   www.vizionkc.com

@Justin - I certainly hope that they are! I spend a lot of time on my iPhone when I can't get to my laptop and it is starting to get very frustrating that I can't interact fully with AR from my phone!

I just bought a new phone and the web 2.0 plan. I agree. Mobile browsing will be very popular and should be.

I think it would be great to have an iPhone version of AR. Be thankful that your MLS is accessible. Our MLS only works with IE.

Speaking as a hillbilly, I would take exception with your portrayal of our posts. We just write in code sometimes.  I agree that the IPhone lacks many of the useful web tools of the windows Mobile 6.1 phones. I use a G1 with a safari type browser, but it seems to be more robust in the sites it can access, so maybe it has been modified somewhat. The HTC phones with Windows mobile seem to do the best job overall with mobile computing, now if they could only have an interface as cool as the IPhone or G1.

I love my Iphone - I do - but the thought of typing an e-mail or blog on it gives me the shivers.  I'm just not sure that the actions of AR are well suited to that media.  Not that I wouldn't like it.  It is a huge undertaking though, I'm sure that's why AR hasn't fully undertaken it.

Yikes, I just clicked on this post and it's from 2008? And outdated because AR is iPhone compatible now. Moderators, hello, where are you?
