Fall is coming in St. Louis.  As with every season, as beautiful as each may be, it presents certain challenges to the indoor environment as well as opportunity to better it.

Here's a couple of simple things you can do to make sure your indoor environment stays in tip top shape in the fall.

  • Open your windows.  After being shut for the entire summer and considering that they will soon be shut again for winter, fall is an opportunity to let it air out!  Not much is better than fresh air.
  • Clean your air ducts.  They're the lungs of your home, air ducts.  Although sight unseen, they may pose a serious problem to the indoor air quality in your home.  Follow the advice of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association and clean them every 5 years.
  • Remove the garden hose from the faucet.  When the time is right, remove it to avoid a very costly pipe break when freezing temps arrive.
