Twilight Saga

I LOVE this series!!!! LOVE  LOVE LOVE!!!!!

It all started when my son, Coty, started reading it. I was thrilled and curious at what had this 13 year old boy finally reading. He rejected the video games, turned off the tv.... and even denied the slew of nightly calls from various girls that was his life! This kid was hooked! Last Thursday night I found myself with the evening free and nothing left to read. I picked up his copy of New Moon. I knew it was the second book of the series, but was sure it wouldn't make that much difference. I got way more than I expected! I found myself at 1am trying with all my might to keep my eyes open. To keep reading. I hadn't put the book down since I opened it. Reading while walking! Finally I knew I had to succumb to sleep.

Many times during those few hours of restless... I can hardly call it sleep... I struggled to NOT reach for the book. At first light I couldn't wait any longer!  When I turned the last page I craved more! I begged my son to go to his friends to borrow Twilight... the first book of the series. I was like an addict waiting for crack! I paced. I knew I should have driven him to get the damn book. This wasn't going to happen again. I went immediately and got the next two!

I finished the first 3 books.... More than 1700 pages.... in a week! Really... HOOKED! I fell in love with these characters. Eclipse, the third of the series, was just as satisfying as the first two... Although I'm still most partial to New Moon. Maybe because it is where I fell in love. Maybe because I have yet to read Breaking Dawn, the fourth, and as of right now, the latest.

Stephenie Meyer is amazing! It's hard to believe Twilight was her first book. Stemming from a dream she didn't want to forget, so decided to write it down. From the dream to publication was only 6 months! Unbelievable.

I anxiously await to begin Breaking Dawn this afternoon. My darling son left my copy in his locker yesterday! Yes. I sulked all evening!

Aahh.... Midnight Sun. Edward's view.  Ridiculous how my heart flutters just a bit when the word escapes. I said I was in love with these characters. And judging from the fan sites, I Love Edward clothing and SO much more, I know I'm not the only one! I refuse to search out the unreleased manuscript, leaked on the internet. I would far rather enjoy the full story as it is meant to be experienced. Eh hem... although I did read the first chapter on Stephenie's website. Hey, she put it there.

The movie will be out November 21, 2008. This is where I find a twinge of pain.... so I will leave that for another blog. I hate to ruin this moment!

I won't give you any details regarding the story. I want you to experience it as I had. Just trust me... you want to read this!

I dream about it. I day dream about it. My mind is so vivid that I see their faces. Hear their voices. I know as soon as I finish the last I will pick up the first again.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Please share your thoughts!

Sounds like a great book, and interesting series.  I'll have to borrow them from you.

I have heard such great things about the series.  I'm glad that they're not just for kids, its for big kids too.  I have to pick it up.

I could not put these books down either! I could not do anything until I finished these darn books! I am going to the movie with friends but am prepared to be disappointed, no way will it be as great as the book!
