Last night, after a long day of trying to work out a short sale gone bad, hurrying through traffic, and gulping down dinner, I went to see the production of Spamalot showing at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford. What fun!! I can't tell you how funny it was! What a treat! The theater is a true gem in our community-- an art form in its own right. And, the show was so fun. It erased all the bad hours of the day in minutes-- energy renewed!
If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and go the next time it's playing near you. I know, it's an effort to make the time, and it does cost some money. But, it felt like a vacation after laughing with everyone. I was with people who I have never heard laugh outloud--- and they were in tears laughing. It made me laugh to see them laugh! Talk about relationship building!
It's silliness at its finest-- it's Monty Python! And it breaks all the rules of political correctness. But, at a time when there are so many dour events and grave seriousness, it is so uplifting to laugh. Go for a fantastic time and enjoy. Pick things back up later and carry on. We all work so hard all week long, 24/7 sometimes. It's not fair to ourselves to work so hard, and it's not good for our clients.
I'm already planning to see "Jersey Boys" in February. I hope it's just as good!
