Cranberry Cove Hopkinton MassachusettsCranberry Cove located on Wescott Drive in Hopkinton Massachusetts is one of the more outstanding luxury subdivisions in the Metrowest Massachusetts area.

This Hopkinton neighborhood is located adjacent to Lake Whitehall on the west side of town off of Pond Street. All of the newer homes located in Cranberry Cove have a value far in excess of a million dollars with a few of them topping the multiply million dollar mark. The homes range in size from 6000 to 10,000 square feet.

The neighborhood is marked by exceptional homes that look like the rich and famous belong in them. Many of the homes have a flavor of the Old World Tuscan Style homes, characterized by a mix of cast stone, used brick, and wood.

Most of the homes built in Cranberry Cove were built by Hallmark Construction, a Hopkinton building company know for their high end luxury homes. Hallmark was established in 1992 by Ron Roux and Ed Tarca who were the principles of the company. Ed and Ron no longer work together but each of them are off on their own still building finely crafted homes.

Cranberry Cove Hopkinton MassachusettsThe home pictured here to the left at 9 Wescott Drive was built by Hallmark in 2004. This home was built in collaboration with Boston Magazine to showcase the latest trends, features, and amenities in luxury home construction.

This home, when constructed was open to the public for viewing with all proceeds going to The Home for Little Wanders, New England' largest child welfare agency. Each year Boston Magazine selects one property to be cosidered for it's "design home" designation. The design home joins a local builder, a charity, and numerous top of the line vendors who work together to showcase new ideas, products, services, and technology.

I have been in thousands of homes in my time as a Metrowest Massachusetts Realtor but can honestly say I have never been in a home that had the quality that this home possessed. I paid to take three tours of this home because there was just so much to see.

Some of the incredible features of this home included a custom home theater with stadium seating, One of the most gorgeous gourmet kitchens I have ever seen, including a cooks and butlers pantry, wine cellar with room for a small party and accommodations for 1500 bottles of wine, a billiards room, and a fitness center to name just a few. This 9000 square foot home had something interesting to offer every where you looked. Heading outside, the home had cutting edge systems, including radiant heat in the driveway and patio areas, as well as closed circuit security and entertainment systems.

This home closed in October of 2004 for $3.5 million dollars.

The Cranberry Cove homes all have their own distinct features but do share some commonalities including intricate multiple roof lines, stone casting, architectural gas lanterns, brick paver court yards, and port caches.

My partner Chuck Joseph and I were involved with selling five homes in Cranberry Cove, including these two properties, prior to Hallmark establishing their own Real Estate company.

As of September 2008 there is one home available for sale in Cranberry Cove at 13 Wescott Drive. This home is listed for $3,445,000 and is not being built by Hallmark or Ed Tarca Construction. There is also one lot available for custom home building.

While driving through Cranberry Cove you will notice on the back end of the neighborhood there are older homes that would not be comparable in stature, size, or value to these the homes pictured here. These homes were built in the 1980's. Wescott Drive was later extended and the million dollar homes were built.

If your looking for a luxury neighborhood with unparalled craftsmanship and great surroundings, Cranberry Cove in Hopkinton would be a great place to call home.

Bill, number one, I just love the homes located in Cranberry Cove...."Cove" is such a cool name for a town or a community. So? How many of these do you have listed? ;-) Homes? I think of them more like mansions. ;-)

Bill - Cranberry Cove appears to have the best of both worlds - uniqueness, but enough consistent design elements that there is a cohesiveness to the neighborhood. Having consistency is so critical.

Sharon - You are right about that. Often times neighborhoods become butchered because the homes do not blend well together. This is certainly not the case with Cranberry Cove.
