City of Banning: Look what's happening on Ramsey and 8th Street

Real Estate Broker/Owner with CELLing Realty CalBRE #01445865

Banning CA, Stagecoach Town USA.  It's been a long time coming for us to really get some new Development, especially in the heart of the city.  Eighth Street and Ramsey is one of the major Intersections of town.  It leads to the 243 to Idyllwild, and to Downtown Banning.  Locals use this street to circumvent the train tracks, and to get to the High School on the South side. Any of the older Banning Residents remember the old Dairy Queen that used to be on this corner, but that was a long time ago.

New Businesses on Ramsey at 8th in BanningEighth Street is one of the major exits off the Freeway because of the underpass, but it has been neglected for years.

Different projects were proposed, and I for one am very glad that the gas station with Truck Wash didn't go in there.  What a nightmare it would have been trying to go straight, or make that turn with trucks coming out onto 8th.

Anyway, we heard a Rite-Aid was going to go here for quite a while before Construction started. Then all of a sudden I saw this Building too.  It seems to dwarf the gas station, and it takes away some of the Mountain Views, but it's so much nicer than an empty lot.  The corner of 8th and Ramsey has changed in the last couple of years....

We have an I-HOP, Jack -in- the -Box, now a  Drug Store, and this Big Building which I heard is going to be a Dental Office.  Yes, this corner has finally benefited from the City of Banning's Infrastructure work

I would like to thank Duane and all his Crew, and the other City staff that helped to change this blighted corner into a nice Commercial area for all of us.Thanks Duane, Thanks Mayor Salas, and all the people on the City Council and Planning Commission.  Banning is finally getting some new business, and this new Development helps the residents of Cabazon, White Water, the Rez, and especially all of us that live on this side of town

Hi Kathy, this is a very nice local post and one that is also gracious in that you thank those responsible for the improvements. I think this is also a good post to use those responsible as tag words. When someone seraches their names, you post should come up. Nicely done!

Hi William- OK, I just added the 2 names, I can't add all of them :)  Next time you come out to the Outlets look at this exit.  It's really starting to look nice .... thanks for your kind words, and Duane really has done some good things for the City.  I love him in that position :)  Thank you for the feedback, and next time you come through let's do lunch :)

Hi Kathy, I like that idea. Hopefully with the holidays coming up ( can you believe that statement-holidays coming up) I will make it over and I'll give you lots of advance notice so we can be sure to schedule breakfast or lunch, depending on what time I can get there, :-).

Seems like Rite Air, Walgreens and CVS are popping up on every available corner around here, must be very profitable business.

Kathy, I always love it when they FIX something here that has been an eyesore.  I know you are grateful and I'm sure the other residents are as well...and glad to hear the truck stop didn't go there!

Thanks for the local post Kathy!  It's great to see some new architure and businesses in our city.  Since 8th Street is the exit we use on our drive home, it's good to see these new buildings.  The dental office across the street is moving along nicely too.

William- You have a date...hope the little one gets better soon.

Cynthia- Yep same here well except for CVC I don't see that many on my area.

Pam- Yes, it's time we grew, but we don't want to "just grow" but do it responsibly protecting our ridge lines, and keeping our equestrian areas as much as we can.

Carole-Oh yes...that truck stop wasn't a good idea :)  And yes, we're happy with the improvements, and believe me having a store closer to our side of town is nice.

Cheri- Ahhh see you have somewhere closer also.  At least if you need something before going to work LOL :)   It is nice isn't they just have to figure out what they're doing south of the freeway :)

Kathy - I can kick myself.  I was just recently in Banning last month.  I wish I had taken the time see if there were any Realtors there I could visit with.  Not to worry.  I will be back around the Christmas season, and would love to just pop in and say Hey.  My sister-in-law lives in Banning, and has a second home in Riverside which she rents right now, but will be looking to sell in the near future.  Who knows.  Hope to be able to hook up with you my next visit.  Take care.

Hi Bob- Oh that's a shame, I would have loved to meet for lunch or something, but hey the Holidays are coming up soon, so give me a call.  Does your sister-in-law live in Sun Lakes?
