Palm Springs to Joshua Tree to Salton Sea in 20 Minutes

This is a great time lapse video of a trip to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, the person/s that filmed this great video also travel through Mecca and the Salton Sea area. This gives you a great perspective of the wonderful desert landscapes that you can experience in our wonderful desert community. The best part is you don't have to pay for gas to enjoy this ride!

In Part 1 they leave Orange County by freeways 5, 55, 91, and 10. Those freeways are kind of boring, but they get past them quickly. Taking hwy 111, they enter Palm Springs and cruise down Palm Canyon Drive (the main drag). They then hop back onto the 10 freeway, headed east to Joshua Tree. They only drive in about 8 miles, then turn back and take (watch Part 2) Box Canyon Road towards Mecca and the Salton Sea, then take hwy 111 back to Palm Springs.






In part 2, they start at Box Canyon Road (very scenic), go through Mecca, see the Salton Sea, then drive back to Palm Springs at sunset. Sleep overnight at the Desert Rivera Hotel, watch the sun rise, take an early morning swim, pan across the San Jacinto Mountain Range.
