We are so lucky to have so many beautiful Lakes, Rivers, Forests, Fields, Parks and Year-Round Recreational Choices just minutes from our homes. One of my favorites is the 4,700 Acre Proud Lake Recreational Area located in Commerce Township.
Upper and Lower Proud Lakes, Moss Lake, and the Huron River are a part of the Proud Lake State Park & Modern Campground located in Commerce Township, Michigan.
You can enjoy the beautiful park land, hunting, fishing, swimming, boating, picnicing, nature, hiking, cross-country skiing, snow mobiling, mountain biking, equestrian trails, metal detecting, kayaking, Paddle Boating and canoeing.

The Mighty Huron River runs into Lower Proud Lake. You can kayak or Canoe all the way to Downtown Milford's Central Park in about an hour up the Huron River enjoying the diverse habitats and natural beauty our state offers.
The Mighty Huron River is a hot spot for Trout Fishing in early Spring. Stocked each Spring with Rainbow and Brown Trout, Anglers flock to the area to try their skill and luck.
The natural, un-touched beauty of the mighty Huron River in the Proud Lake State Park offers you plenty of choices to enjoy our great outdoors.
You have opportunities to see White-Tail Deer, Foxes, Coyotes, Wild Turkey, Rabbits, Egrets, Blue Herons, Canadian Geese, many varieties of Ducks, and other wild critters in your travels down the river or through the parklands.
You can camp at the State Park Campgrounds or rent one of the small cabins. Boat rentals are available from April through October.
The natural beauty of the Proud Lake Campgrounds and Parklands, offer you a chance to unwind, enjoy nature and simply relax with family and friends. The campgrounds offer modern bath facilities, picnic shelters, fire-pits, beach, boat launch and trails.
With over 20 miles of trails and 4,700 acres of scenic parklands, the Proud Lake Recreation Area is a great place to enjoy year-round just minutes from Novi, Northville, Highland, and West Bloomfield in beautiful Commerce Township.
