My Meeting with the Governor!

Dino Rossi & Bill Sauneuf at the Skagit Speedway 0/13/08

well, the future Governor anyway....

My Dad and I went to the Skagit Speedway this evening to watch the Coach Corral Season Championship Races.

Dino Rossi came to the event too!  He seemed to be having a great time.  He was up in the announcing booth.  He waved the Green Flag to start one of the championship races.  He went around meeting people, shaking hands, and posing for pictures with people... I was one of them!

We had a brief conversation.

I said  "When you beat her again in this election, please make sure it counts!  Leave no doubt in the spread."

Dino's response "We're going to finish what we started."

That was really about it, other than the photo-op.

He's a nice man that came out to the track with two of his kids, Jake and Joseph, and had a good time.

He had my vote 4 years ago and he will have it again in 2008.

Go Dino!!

Bill:  That last thing Washington State needs is another republican governor.  Governor Christine Gregoire is doing a great job.

Karen,

I'm not sure where you could possibly get the idea that Christine Gregoire is doing even a competent job as Governor.

  • She claims to have completed 130 transportation projects.  Is traffic better?
  • She claims to have helped the economy.  Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?  Most people in Washington are not.
  • She claims that Dino Rossi wanted to slash healthcare for 46,000 kids.  That has been proven false and her slanderous attack ads have been called "Sleazy" by the Seattle times - 6/29/08

Bill:  Since you are not better off than you were four years ago, can I assume that you will be voting for Senator Obama ?  :)

I'm with you, I will be voting again for Dino just as I did 4 years ago. I feel the outcome will be better this election.

Karen,

I still haven't decided on who will get my vote for President.

I think John McCain is a good man with plenty of experience to do the job.  However, he's also very old and I have concerns about him there as well as his positions on the war effort.  I personally think it is time to hand Iraq back to the Iraqies.  A huge part of the problems still facing that country is foreign soldiers have boots on the ground in Iraq.  Our soldiers are the best in the world and among the best American people!  However, it is time to come home.  I believe if John McCain wins, we'll still be in Iraq in 4 years and I don't like that.

Like most people that have heard him speak, I like Senator Obama.  However, what has he done?  He's a Senator that hasn't been responsible for drafting a single law.  He's clearly intellignet and can get people to rally behind him and that is an important part of being President of the United States.  The way I see it, he's a Senator that hasn't done much.  What would he accomplish as President?

Like I said, I'm still not sure who I'll be voting for.  I am happy about one thing.  No matter who wins, either another gender barrier or color barrier will be broken.  That is a very good thing!  I really look forward to the day where those issues are not part of the story...  Let the best candidate win.

Hi Bill,

Yep I'll be voting or Dino Rossi too.  Not only is he a financially conservative businessman, but he won last time.  Better yet he is a Realtor. And anyone who likes local stock car racing has a good chance of understanding the "common man."
