Hog Truck Overturns

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty

A hog truck on the way to Smithfield recently overturned in Suffolk at the Intersection Godwin Blvd and Kingsdale Rd.  Several hogs were killed and several more escaped.  The road was closed for six hours.  The Chuckatuck Volunterr Fire Department kept the remaining hogs cool my spraying them with water while they were being transferered to another truck.

Gene,

I just listened to someone in the path of IKE saying that they had lost 40 hogs.  At least they didn't lose a truck!

Not a real person
San Diego, CA

Now that brings back memories. Many decades ago I was in College Station, Texas, for a Texas Aggie football game. There is a railroad track that splits the East campus from the West campus. At the north end of the campus is North Gate, an area full of restaurants, bars, pool halls, clubs, etc. Just at the end of North Gate is the railroad track bridge. That day a train derailed going over the bridge and one boxcar fell to the ground below. It burst open its load of thousands of cases of beer. You've never seen such a crowd in your life; I think there were more at the "beer train derailment" than there were at the football game. LOL
