STAYCATION - SAN DIEGO - PRE FALL

By

The recent gas crunch was the wake- up call some of us needed to realize that gas for what we considered a “reasonable” price was not a given.

Worldwide economic and political factors far far away will continue to dictate to us what we will pay at the pump.

What we can control is consumption. I have seen more and more Smart Cars and scooters on the road today and have overheard many conversations about conservation, being more economical, organizing errands to conserve gas, bike riding, and local vacations rather than elaborate vacations that include air travel.

The upside of all of this for the local economy has been higher attendance and more attention to local events, which in San Diego, we are never short of. San Diego has long been the beneficiary of being 1 – 1 ½ hours from Orange County and Los Angeles, making our events and attractions even more attractive now.

For example, next weekend, September 19th - 21st we have two great events that are well worth attending.

SEPTEMBER 20 &21:

In Carlsbad, my home town, we have our 7th annual Artsplash weekend. This free arts festival has a spectacular setting on Armada Drive above the Flower Fields overlooking the Pacific Ocean features live music, kids’ activities, fine artist booths and a variety of food to entice your palette.

The big draw is all the incredible chalk art street paintings are the highlight of this festival! Dozens of experienced street painters, who will over the course of the two day event, create spectacular masterpieces of chalk art.

SEPTEMBER 19 & 20: STREET SCENE The 24th annual all ages celebration event promises to be one of the best located in the heart of downtown. Dubbed the ultimate summer block party, music is central to all the festivities.

Headliners - Beck, The Black Crowes, Tegan and Sarah, Michael Fronti and the Spearheads and will along with 30+ other artists will perform on 4 different stages from 4pm to Midnight. This includes Tailgate Park, adjacent to Petco Park in the East Village. Public transportation and late event schedules make for easy commutes. Two day tickets are available online.

I love to meet and great buyers and sellers of all price ranges. North San Diego is a great place to live, work and live.

So if you are looking for a DEAL or a STEAL give me a call.
