A Change is in the Air

Do you feel it?  I cannot say that there are a lot of stats to support this....it is more of a feeling.  Things are beginning to move.  Properties that seemed to be just sitting on the market are beginning to sell.  Peoples attitude towards the real estate market are becoming more positive.  Agents in my office seem to be moving more.

Buyers who were sitting on the fence are finally becoming more active.  I know this is due to changes in interest rates, the new tax credit program launched on July 30th, and continued nice weather.  Have you noticed that with the bad weather we seem to slow down?

I have seen mortgage companies get more aggressive with what mortgage programs are out there.  Instead of discussing what we have lost, they are discussing what is still available.  There is still a lot out there for buyers.  There is a lot of inventory, and some amazing prices as well.

With our office located downtown I am continually amazed at the amount of activity in the area.  There is a lot of curiosity about the downtown development.  There is a lot of excitement, and belief in the fact that it will work.

With all of the stats that are available, and the feeling amongst people in the industry, now looks like an amazing time to buy.  Last month showed an increase in the average price per home sold, and sales were up.  No we are not back to two years ago..but the future does seem to look brighter.

Thank you to all of the agents, brokers, mortgage companies, and others in the business of selling homes, who have remained positive and steadfast during this transitional time.  This positive attitude is what will keep the market moving, and our clients willing to learn about how they can invest in real estate.
