Health Food Southern Style

By
Real Estate Agent with AllMountainRealty.com

I am a transplanted New Yorker.I have been here almost 24 Years. Each section of the country has it's beauty . But it also has a uniqueness that adds the human touch to an area. The picture below is a typical North Georgia Mountain store. You can tell by the Chimney and the wooden structure that the building has been around for a while.

It is a Health food store. now aside from the appeal of the building there is a certain incongruity to this photo that is uniquely Southern. In the Land of North Georgia just outside Atlanta you can believe Coca Cola is considered a health food. I smile every time I see the front of this building. I thought You All would like it too.We all post pretty Pictures what about traditions makes your area of the country unique? Love to read about it Country Store

Charlie...

Of course Coca Cola is a health food ... It's the pause that refreshes!

That is a very nice photograph.  I have one of those Coke signs in my attic.  I hope it will sell for enough one day for me to retire!

Someone has a green thumb - love the setting of this photo Charlie. In the South, Coca-Cola is a major food group, isn't it?

Great photo... looks like the "Health Food Store" sign is old.... but the Coke signs are older.  I do drink the healthy Coke personally... Diet Coke but the real Coke logo is pure class.

It sure does look like an inviting store.  I have driven by a number of times but never seemed to have the time to stop.  Your picture reminded me and the next time I plan that drive I will leave several minutes early so I can go in:)

Don't forget about boiled peanuts.  You cannot live without them for long in North Georgia.I moved to Rabun County GA over ten years ago.  Didn't know what a boiled peanut was till then. My husband and I bought an antique store on 76W near Lake Burton and also sold boiled peanuts. Nothing better than boiled peanuts and a coca-cola.  I am so glad I became southern!

Shelly have you ever tried putting salted peanuts into your Coke?  Of course, it needs to be a GLASS bottle of Coke which may be hard to find but it's a neat treat!
