Hi Carol... Apple picking in the autumn was one of my favorite childhood memories growing up in NJ.  For some reason, the apples always tased better back then.  These days apples just seem to lack flavor to me.  But reading your post I can still remember the taste of a good juicy red delicious apple.  Yum!
