Growing Strong...an Update.

Two months ago I wrote a blog about training for my first Triathlon. I indeed tried, scared to death of the 750 meter lake swim with 300 of my very competitive friends but I tried.

The swim was great, after getting kicked in the face and poked in many other places I made it out of the water and four short minutes later brutally crashed on my bike!!! It was horrible, I came to upon hearing the burning sound of hydrogen peroxide on my raw flesh. Broken helmet, but no broken spirit. A great experience, I got into the game. Luckily there is no DNF when you google me, a huge shout out to the company that scores these things. I just kept thinking while I was lying in hospital while nurse Katie rubbed the sand out of my open flesh, that I would have a DNF on my google, that hurt the most. The good news is the catscan was negative, (I know many of you that know me find that impossible) accept for the huge ole brain, nothing.

Since then I have been trying harder, ran a ten mile race last month and my second attempt at the Tri is Saturday. My goal this time is to avoid all contact with EMS and then the goal is to finish!!!!

Wish me luck.

***My wife persuaded me from posting the pictures from the accident, y'all owe her one!

Best of luck to you!!! Takes guts and determination. I need some sort of diversion such as this to get me away from the 18 hour a day, 7 day a week grind of surviving as a new broker in this crazy market.

Think I'll start small. I'm moving my office upstairs so I can get some exercise! That and cutting firewood all over town from Hurricane Ike (yes, he left nearly 2 million without power in Ohio, believe it or not).

Seriously, you are to be commended.

Keep me posted.
