Need a new pair of heels

pebbles     I enjoy going to these beautiful homes for open houses, but I have gotten to dislike the pebble driveways/walkways.  They are very attractive looking, but they hate your shoes.  I got into my car the other day to realize that the bottom of my heal was no longer there.  Having this happen to me for the first time I was like great now I need to buy a new pair of shoes.  Luckily someone told me that I can just replace the bottom of the heel.  I went to a shoe repair shop and got the bottom of my heel (ended up doing both) replaced for only $7.  Thank goodness for shoe repair shops.  I feel like I should start carrying an extra pair of shoes so when I see a pebble driveway/walkway I can change into them.  It may not look too attractive but my heels will sure be happy with me.

I keep an extra pair in my trunk for when it rains or when I have to walk thru a home under construction.

Jennifer, I keep a pair in the trunk (flats), for cobblestone streets (or just the ones full of holes); or bad weather, etc.  The flats I wore today were covered in mud from a construction site.  Had I been wearing the heels, I would still be looking for them. :)

Elaine and Sylvie - Its nice to know that I am not the only one that has this problem.  I actually had to use the pair of flats I had in my truck for an open house today.

Jennifer:  Great post!  This is so relevant to female agents.  When I first started in real estate, I would go on every appointment in heels and a nice suit (often linen or silk).  As you have noted, heels can be quite iimpractical on outdoor surfaces, and suit jackets simply are not smart to wear when climbing down ladders into dirt-floor basements.  Now I save the pretty clothes for closings and wear flats or boots for showings.  Thanks for the heel tip.
