BostonKayakGuy takes to the ocean whenever possible, and this morning was no exception.
As I took to one of my favorite early morning cruises, I was enjoying the sun, the fresh air, and the exhilaration of being out on the ocean on a brisk, fall day.
I came around the bend to Cape Hedge Beach and lo and behold saw film cameras capturing the beauty of a Rockport morning. Well BostonKayakGuy thought the filming would be enhanced with the addition of BostonKayakGuy, so off I went stroking with power, grinning like an idiot.
Two little girls drove bikes up and down at water’s edge. A film crew had them do it over and over again.
New Mel Gibson Movie “Edge of Darkness” Now Filming in Rockport
I couldn’t believe it! I’d heard that Mel Gibson was going to be in town filming a scene from “Edge of Darkness” a film about a Boston homicide cop mourning the death of his activist daughter.
Cape Hedge Beach was to be the backdrop of a scene where Gibson throws his daughter’s ashes into the sea, at the beach she loved so dearly as a little girl.

As I streak across open water, I begin thinking, “Maybe Mel needs a stand-in. A good looking top notch kayaker. A kayaker with panache who also happens to be a terrific real estate agent. Whoa!”
I’m thinking that maybe the storyline should be slightly altered. Maybe the girl’s dad should be in a kayak when he throws her ashes into the sea. Sounds good, don’t you think?
I see one of the film crew waving at me. Aha! It’s time for my film debut I think.
Time to stop blogging on my pda.
Time to show the Hollywood types what BostonKayakGuy is all about.
