Well I believe it is that time of year again in Wisconsin when apples are everywhere and we do our best to honor them. I tend to agree with my son Spencer that they are best featured when in pie form. An art form that consumes you, or we consume.
Saturday we are off to Applefest, and as I try to get rid of this cold I know I am going on Hayrides, eating until the cows come home, and seeing all the nice smiling faces that say Tom "Have you been effected by gravity; you look different"
I reply with absolute sincerity, "Yep, it's all this wonderful apple food that makes me as thin as I am today"

Delicious food; apple pie baking contest (entries by 10:30am, judging at 11); apple cider; arts and crafts 9am-5; orchard tours with Johnny Appleseed 10:15am, 12:15 and 2:15; heirloom apples; apple experts; hayrides 11am to 3pm; scarecrow lane (262-896-8007 to reserve a spot); folk concert- Apple Jam 10am-12; Tom Pease 2:30-4:30; silent auction 9-4; raffle drawing at 4pm (queen size quilt); children's activities; adventures in the autumn sky every half hour 9:30-4:30-$2/$1. $5 per car admission to Festival.
