Coconut Grove is one of the oldest communities in the City of Miami overlooking Biscayne Bay with an eclectic style luring young residents since the early 1960's. Coconut Grove, also known as The Grove, consists of numerous distinct neighborhoods with various styles and price ranges.  One of these communities includes a flourishing African-American neighborhood whose descendants include early settlers from the Bahamas. The Grove can have a moderate cottage right next door to a recently renovated mansion or small condominium complex.  The cities luxurious mansions and waterfront estates are located in the Coconut Grove area and have residents including high profile individuals involved in the entertainment, business and sports professions.

The Grove also consists of a successful retail-entertainment center including Coco Walk, an indoor-outdoor shopping center with boutiques and restaurants and the Streets of Mayfair, which features a 10-screen movie theater. The small boutiques, restaurants and jewelry carts create an outdoor Miami atmosphere making the Grove a desirable destination for residents and visitors. Coconut Grove has other monumental features including the historic Villa Viscaya, the Miami Museum of Science, Mercy Hospital, respected and prestigious private schools, churches, parks and one of the most well liked marinas, Dinner Key.
