Victoria - Ogden Point
Downtown Victoria is the only port on Vancouver Island for large cruise ships. Our Inner Harbour and downtown are wonderful visits for the passengers, who access the area via a shuttle bus. Whale watching is one of the most popular tourist attractions.
Victoria - Inner Harbour
Small cruise ships carrying up to 130 passengers are able to dock right in our Inner Harbour, where many attractions are located. The Victoria Museum and world-class shopping are only steps away.
Nanaimo
Nanaimo, the second largest city on Vancouver Island is known as "The Harbour City" and a port of call for many of the smaller cruise ships. The 4 kilometre harbour-side walkway leads to the Bastion, a fortified tower erected on the waterfront in 1853. The Bastion is one of the few Hudson's Bay Company Bastions still standing, and is the oldest remaining structure of its type in North America.
Campbell River
Many cruise ships pass close by and some stop in Campbell River en-route to Alaska. Campbell River is known as "the Salmon Capital of the World" and is a fishing paradise. Visit the Campbell River Museum and learn about local industries through visits to a pulp and paper mill or salmon hatchery.
Alert Bay
Alert Bay at the northern end of Vancouver Island is the oldest community on the island. Small cruise ships stop to admire the pristine wilderness and fishing village. Alert Bay is the home of the Namgis First Nation, and also home to the world's tallest totem pole (183 feet high, in two parts). The Native Cultural Centre is a wonderful museum of native art.
