Continuing Ed. Who needs it!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Unlimited

Ok, I'm off to a 12 hour continuing ed class tomorrow and I will find what I always find.  A bunch of kitchen brokers who haven't sold 5 homes3 between them in the past 3 years.  They will have a bunch of pointless questions with obvious answers and I have to sit through it all looking at my watch wondering if this day will end and if I'll ever learn anything worth while in one of these sessions.  There should be segregated clases.  One for practicing realtors and one for not.

Is anyone else frustrated by this process?????

We all need education, not just for the clock hours but to actually serve the needs of our customers in a way they deserve. Actually, there will always be someone who hasn't a clue as to what's going on, but for the most part our classes are filled to the maximum with a waiting list. Our local board offers FREE clock hour classes to it's members and we get State approved teachers, so the classes are excellent.

I enjoyed my last 4 hours. Here the title companies do it for our cresdit. It was at Audubon Zoo. The seats were comfortable and we can some nice sancks. The attorneys had a nice presentation and made the time go fast. Most of the agents were regulars and none asked stupid questions. After Katrina we yad a lot of legal issues to talk about. eirc

LOL, you sound just like my wife.  The last class she took the person teaching it hadn't had a transaction in years. -Charles

What you gain from any class all depends on your attitude going in and how open your mind is. It's not just about education and clock hours. Just by introducing yourself to others around you, you may meet the next agent that you do a deal with. Opportunities are always there if you're open to them.
