Adversity is something that we all face daily. Some of us face it hourly. And even some face it every second of their existance. It is not what adversities that are faced that define the person but how that person handles those adversities.

Dictionary.com gives the following meaning to adversity:

1. adverse fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress: A friend will show his or her true colors in times of adversity.
2. an adverse or unfortunate event or circumstance: You will meet many adversities in life.

As the 2 meaning is written, it comes to mind that I have never met a person that has not faced adversity in life. However, I have met many a person that has overcome adversity and become successful. And as time goes along, I will meet many more.

The biggest adversity facing our nation today is the economy. The housing market is bad to say the least, the unemployment rate is rising, companies are failing, and the stock market is crashing. All of these are adversities in our lifes. Yet, in the face of this adversity, there is a beacon of light that is shining. There are people out there that are making the most of this "Doom and Gloom" situation. These are the people that face adversity head on and WIN. These are the people that I want to be associated with.

In closing, the quotes are a few more today as this is a subject that I think a lot of people need to find the inspiration in. As always, clicking on the pictures will take you into another world of mine where you will be able to read another article written by me on an outside platform. One is about attitude and one is about buying a home. Both are good reads.

Great quotes, Danny!  I have a small plaque that stays with me no matter where I live or work ... and on it it says:

Life is like a grindstone ...

Whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on the stuff you are made of.

This was AWESome and timely topic Danny - and I love Teddy Roosevelt's philosophy.

My Mom always said - we have to somehow learn to deal with the cards dealt to us.

Jeff always says some people whose names are on the obituary page of the newspaper today

WISH they still had adversities.

I say if you start to feel you are alone with adversity- visit a hospital ICU or hospice for a few hours eachday.

hello ,i going to make this short becuse as you may see iam not much of a writer .i was wanting to ask for help .i have been liveing with my boyfriend and our grandson for 4 year now ,he is much older then i he is 59 and i 25 he and i have been bumping heads over whats right or what not i have no come back whan he downs me wrongfully in front of others he always wants to make me feel that i dont know anything .i'am not asking of you to feel sorry for me what so ever no but what iam asking for is your support as a friend not trying to cuse anything if your wife can talk to or both would help to be MORE NOT LESS BUT MORE THANKYOU  love your soon to be your friend .
