How many times do you begin your day with good intentions, then wind up letting the day control you?
The best way of taking back time is by planning ahead with a simple Time block tool called a 4-1-1. At KW, since education is key, and our time is precious, take just a few minutes every week to plan. A 4-1-1 works like this:
The "4" stands for 4 weeks, the "1" stand for one month, and the "1" stands for one year.
Simply put, decide first what Steven Covey calls the "Big Rocks". Those are the most important goals you have for the year. ONLY pick 3 or 4 major accomplishments you'd like to make happen.
Now look at your Big rocks. and each and every month decide what you need to do that month to help you get there. An example would be if you wanted to add 100 new people to your Database as a "big rock" for the year. That means, in the month of say, April, you decided that in order to do that, you would need to meet 8-10 new people in the month of April that you didn't know.
Now, to take it down further, at the beginning of each week, you know that in order to meeting 10 people that month, you need to meet 2-3 people each week, and you assign yourself tasks associated with how you're going to do that.
This is laid out in very simplistic terms here, but the main focus is getting your GOALS on PAPER, looking at them MONTHLY, then WEEKLY. You will find yourself on track with whatever goals or "Big Rocks" you're shooting for. It works, it's simple, and you'll see the results. JUST DO IT. Try it out for the month.
It's a great life,
Laura
