Fighting at the Gas pumps!

I had to go to Hendersonville NC today it is only 30 minutes form our home and I thought It would be a pretty quick trip. Wrong, I was surprised to see gas lines about 1 mile in both directions with police officers directing traffic, with traffic back up everywhere I turned.  My kids were with me and this was a first for them, but the fight that we saw at a traffic light was unreal.  People were outside there cars screaming and yelling about someone taking to much gas and hording gas.  The police had to come! I thought I was never going to get out of the traffic.  I found out later that only 5 stations had gas today the rest were closed for gas.  On the way home I found traffic lines in Travelers Rest because everyone form NC came down here for gas and now gas stations in Travelers Rest are now out of gas.  We did find that in Greer and Taylors there was gas available.  Times are really bad and we must be patient and help each other out.  What is a huge fight going to do to solve the problem.  My daughter was feet away on her side of the car from the fight and there was not 1 thing I could do. She  was worried they would get pushed into our car.  This is very sad and I feel this community really needs to pray for each other! I remember as a kid in the 70's they made people buy gas on certain days.  What is up!

We need to re-evaluate our priorities and start driving SMART!!!  The American public needs to get off their "LIVING ROOM" SUV'S, VANS, and LARGE TANKS for transportation.  Then we will have gas for everyone or we get SMART and use alternative cheaper ways of transportation.   Why are we driving LIVING ROOMS and then complaining on the price of gas???  When the demand goes down, the price will fall.  We are very, very, very ADDICTED TO DRIVING LARGE VEHICLES.  Yet, with the internet, we should be doing much less driving and working in a SMARTER FASHION....  We have to change our ways, the times are changing and we have to change with the times....

Hi Kathy;

Our country is in bad shape, I do hope the government could do something to help us.

I am sure you were completely mortified and I am so sorry to hear this, Kathy. I heard on the news this evening that help and fuel trucks are on their way.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Take care and be safe.

Kathy,  We have really been effected her in middle Tennessee.  I think Nashville was probably hit the hardest by the gas shortages.

Road rage at the gas pumps!  That's sad, Kathy.  On the brighter side, milk is now cheaper than gas.
