Hello Friends, I am sorry for the late update, I was hoping to have some clear and concise information going into the weekend on the state of the Fed Rescue plan of the financial markets. Ahhhhhh, yeah right! So the question of the day was deal, or no deal? As of right now, it looks like our legislators are going to work on this through the weekend and most likely have a plan and a vote by market open Monday morning. Typically the headline reports for mortgage backed securities is the Jobs report that comes out once a month and was due today. Well, the report was not even a blip on the radar screen with everything else going on. WAMU failed and was purchased at the last minute by JP Morgan/Chase last night for 1.9 Billion dollars. That is a purchase for about 1% of the value of WAMU, their assets and deposits as of 9 months ago. To see the largest savings and loan bank go down in flames is a prime example of how dire this economic crisis we are in. As multi-billionaire Warren Buffet said yesterday, the seriousness of this situation is the "Pearl Harbor of our financial markets health." When a person like WB feels our situation is that drastic, I would say there is reason for a Fed action. Please watch the video for more details! Have a great weekend and as always, Be Blessed!

Travis, take a look at my take on this mess. I published a post on 9-25-08 titled "Government Bail-Out – Risk & Reward." You can view it at my San Diego real estate blog.

Of course, I would love to think that Mr. Buffet invested his $5 billion a few short days ago for totally selfless reasons (yeah, right!)....but I surely have my doubts.

Since he is no investment newbie or dummy, and clearly knows what he is doing investment-wise, I venture to guess that he simply sees potentially BIG (make that HUGE!) profits down the road....after all, how much lower than the stock prices go.....???

Sadly, I have NO faith in our government....NONE! The Democrats technically would have had enough votes to move forward with the $700 billion bailout, at the taxpayer's expense (and our children/grandchildren).....I think if they reeeeeeeeeeeeally thought that it was such a terrific & necessary thing for the survival of our economic system, they would have done everything in their power to move it thru in a New York minute....but they also did not want to run the risk of having it either fail or find that it was not enough, which they would then have to take TOTAL responsibility for it.....not a chance of that.

Washington equals no accountability or ethics.....I fear that system is now so badly broken, it will take generations to ever be right again.....no matter which side of the political fence we happen to sit on.

Thanks for your updates....keep up the good work!
