What a shame.  I am no avid movie goer, but Paul truly was a great actor.  The color of money is one of my all time favorites.  This brought back memories of when I was a kid and my parents would say "oh no, _______ (a famous actor in their day) died!"  And I would think "who the heck is that and why are my parents so upset with someone they didn't even know."  Well, now I know how they felt.  But I wonder where do these feelings come from?  Is it because we have deep respect and admiration for these strangers or is because it reminds us of our own mortality?????????

I saw this earlier on Twitter - very sad.  I saw some photos of him recently and he looked very sick.  He was one of the all-time greats.

Kirk, what a man he was...I'm watching TV right now and they're doing an entire show about his life on ESPN...so I tuned in and learned that he was very much involved in racing! He not only loved to act, but the man loved to race cars...I never knew that...He said that he had never embraced a sport until he got behind the wheel of a race car and learned that he absolutely had to do this...and made sure he scheduled time to simply race...and nothing else.

Paul Newman was a CLASS ACT of the type that Hollywood does not provide us anymore.  His substance, style, and the way he chose to live his life and manage his fame are examples that many of today's stars should take notice of and choose to emulate.
