I've meet some great people right here on Active Rain. Inspectors. Realtors. Home Stagers. Many of you live right here on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Right here in my on backyard. Opportunities arise when I am able to enter an office and ask for someone that I have met here. We already have something in common, Active Rain.
For you familiar ones, "Nice meeting you!"
NOW
I inspected a home for a couple transferring here, Alabama Gulf Coast, from Michigan. They were, somewhat, fearful about moving to a hurricane prone area especially after hearing all the news about Katrina. I felt an anxiety attack coming when the couple began to question me about this subject. This was serious to them.
Besides hurricanes, we also live on the Mobile Delta where Alligators can be seen as you travel between Mobile and Daphne. Daphne is here on the Eastern Shore, across the Bay from Mobile. Alligators must not be a common site in Michigan? Anyhow, the lady asked me if it would be safe to go outside because of Alligators walking around? I assured her that they would be safe. I then asked the couple if they were surprised to fine out we had electricity, indoor plumbing, and our mode of transportation is not "John Deer Tractors." They laughed and I finished their inspection.
Being a Home Inspector is more than inspecting a home. We must be kind, courteous, and informative. We must have the ability to communicate and show respect for our clients, whoever they are.
I Love This Job!!!
