Get involved in Your Community Events, Colorado and make a Difference - The Highlands Ranch Arthritis Walk!
Those that know me do know that giving back to the community is something I just do. I have always donated a percentage of every closing to the non-profit/charity/school of my clients choice. Its just the way I do business as a Denver real estate agent.
However, I also like to put my money where my mouth is and participate, in person, as well. We are all busy folks and as much as I would like to participate in every event around town, time is not on my side. So I do what I can. When I do choose organizations to support, not only with my money but my time, I do look at different aspects of the event or organization and choose organizations that align with my overall core. Organizations that help every day people, that live right here, in my own community.
Well, here is one I have found, have participated in the past and will again this year.
The Highlands Ranch Arthritis Walk will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Redstone Park, Highlands Ranch. The actual Walk begins at 11am and there are activities both before and after the actual walk as well. You will also have the choice of a 3 mile walk route or the shorter 1 mile route - either is great! In the past, there has also been dogs from area shelters available to be walked throughout the event and there has always been entertainment, wonderful food & munchies after the walk.
Now that I have been introduced to many people - kids and adults alike - that live with arthritis everyday, I am glad that I was introduced to this event. Previously, I really didn't realize how many people, especially children, do have arthritis, and live with this painful condition and treatments and am happy to help support & raise funds for arthritis research prevention and cures.
My own family has participated in this event together in the past and will so again. The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation has 2 other walks around town as well (Denver & Westminster). I love teaching my children to give back to their community and with our participation in the Highlands Ranch Arthritis Walk, it is one we can do together with pride.
