Eco-Friendly Paint for Your Carlsbad Home

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty of California, Inc. CA DRE #01490977

The Freshaire Choice paints for your Carlsbad homeIf you are considering painting your new Carlsbad home, or perhaps freshening it up for sale, think about the environment, and your own health.

The Freshaire Paint and colorant system offers you the opportunity to avoid using paints with VOCs (volatile organic compounds - wow, that's a mouthful) that cause poor air quality.

What is unique about this paint is that the coloring added ALSO has no VOCs. Other paints claim to not have VOCs but when you add colorant they can no longer make that claim, so The Freshaire Choice is different.

While we usually hear and think about the air quality outside, much less frequently do we consider the indoor air quality. According to the EPA (see The Freshaire site), indoor air quality can be 2 - 5 times more polluted than the outdoors, something to consider for yourself, and especially children.

The Freshaire Choice is certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) and can be found at Home Depot and other stores.

Jeff, Benjamin Moore also has an eco friendly line that I'm using on my house. My painters love the stuff.

Interesting post. I knew the interior paint had a certain resistance to it because of the makeup of the paint and it's washabilty, but this is really interesting.

Thanks

Jeff, OK so another thing that I have learned from reading your blog. I did not know that there was such a thing as "ECO Friendly Paint".

I didn't stop to think when I started painting my bath and kitchen....hmmm.  ....is white and off white considered a colorant?

Volatile organic compounds... what a way to say hazardous to your health!  More aesthetically pleasing.
